Erotix is a quarterly journal expressing our erotic embodiment explorations in words and art. We provide a space to articulate the epistemology of the body, the knowledge found in somatic exploration, and methodologies for healing.
It is intended to be read by both practitioners and students alike, in order to continue to spark connection, thought, and deeper investigation by those exploring the sacred somatic, erotic embodiment, and healing body trauma worlds.
Erotix will not include any advertisements.
Call for submissions
Body Trust's literary journal of somatics, Erotix, is seeking non-fiction essays, creative personal essays, academic studies, black & white photographs, black & white illustrations, prose, poems, and experimental writing forms about somatics and embodiment. We are especially curious about subjects that intersect with somatics and embodiment, which include, but are not limited to: trans, gender, and queer explorations; anti-racist philosophies and undoing racism while working with bodies; BDSM and kink; the container, retort, or circle technology; healing trauma; teaching embodiment work; the semantics of the body; Tantra and neo-Tantra; reviews of experiences with events or practitioners.
Submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org in a word attachment with the subject "Erotix submission." Please use plain formatting (times new roman or equivalent, 12pt font) with indented paragraphs. Writings should be less than 1500 words; photographs and illustrations should be high resolution, at least 300 dpi and 2000x2000 pixels. Include a short (150 word) bio for the author and any links to the author's current projects or web portfolio. Work will be chosen based on the in-depth analysis of erotic somatic work, and the fit with the issue. Previously published and unpublished work will be considered.
Payment: $25 and one copy of the journal in exchange for first printing rights.
